You all know that I was fortunate enough to have a ‘Givenchy day’ on Tuesday. The retrospective journey began with a bit of brand history, its development since 1952 and its creator Hubert de Givenchy. It was a success right from the start and began collaborating with Audrey Hepburn (who would eventually become Givenchy’s muse) a year after opening. Hubert remained at the forefront on the brand’s reign until 1995. Givenchy was taken over by Riccardo Tiscci in 2005. Tiscci managed to guard Hubert’s influence by reinterpreting and updating the values set by the brand’s creator.
L’interdit was the first ever Givenchy fragance, created for the legendary Audrey. The beautiful actress was able to use the unique perfume exclusively until it went on sale to the general public. L’interdit set the precedent for a long line of perfumes, some of which continue to be in stock until the present day, and paved the way for glorious newcomers such as Very Irresistible. I tested them all and I can openly say that I have three faves: Eaudemoiselle (a combination of rose, tandarine and musk contained in a fab, retro bottle), Ange ou Démon and Play (a very special, wooden, floral fragrance).

Ya sabéis que el martes tuve la suerte de pasar un «día Givenchy«, pues bien, la jornada comenzó con un viaje por la historia de la marca, que creó allá por el año 1952 Hubert de Givenchy. Desde un primer momento tuvo muchísimo éxito, de hecho tan sólo un año después de lanzarse con sus creaciones en París ya estaba colaborando con la que luego fuera su musa, la maravillosa Audrey Hepburn. Hasta el año 95 fué él quien estuvo al frente de la marca y a partir del 2005 Riccardo Tiscci ha sabido plasmar como nadie los valores de la marca reinterpretándolos y reactualizándolos.
Ahora que estoy informadísima, os quiero contar que la primera fragancia del modisto fué L’interdit, que en un principio creó expresamente para Audrey y que usó ella solita durante un tiempo hasta que se comercializó. Después de ésa han venido muuuuchas, algunas míticas de la firma que no han dejado de fabricarse y otras más actuales como Very Irrésistible. Yo después de oler toditas me quedo con tres: Eaudemoiselle (con su maravilloso frasco retro que me enamoró y una mezcla de Almizcle, rosa y madarina), Ange ou Démon Elixir (lo último!, muy floral), y Play, con un olor floral amaderado afrutado muy especial.
Y la próxima semana colgaré nuevo post con muchas más fotos y con las respuestas a todas las dudas de maquillaje que me habéis planteado, que el maquillador oficial de Givenchy (Miguel Angel Donadio) me aclaró, estoy segura de que os servirá de gran ayuda, a mi por lo menos me ha venido genial.
